Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

Veranda Tamarin is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the resort's maintenance operations. The role ensures the upkeep of facilities and equipment, timely completion of maintenance works, and compliance with quality and safety standards, while managing team performance, resources and departmental efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Superior in performance appraisals, training needs and promotion recommendations; coach team members, run on-the-job training and follow up inductions; promote team welfare, safety and development; report disciplinary issues.
• Supervise daily maintenance and repair, including electrical and mechanical works, and preventive and corrective maintenance programmes; conduct regular inspections against checklists and test fire prevention and protection systems.
• Advise the General Manager/Resort Manager on refurbishment and rebuilding requirements.
• Prepare duty rosters, monitor punctuality and absenteeism, plan annual leave, monitor maintenance stores and spare parts, supervise contractors and control additional works.
• Keep maintenance paperwork, logbooks and checklists up to date.
• Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System, health and safety regulations and policies, and promote safe working practices.
• Follow up on guest complaints about maintenance and contribute to refurbishment and maintenance projects.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of maintenance management practices, health and safety regulations and quality standards.
• Previous experience in resort or hotel maintenance, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Experience coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, electrical and mechanical works and contractor activities.
• Experience in team supervision, maintenance planning, inventory control and safety compliance.
