About the role
Wave Capital Manager Ltd is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to own and develop the firm’s operating platform. The role involves overseeing the operational management of investment vehicles, ensuring accurate dealing, settlement, reporting and governance in line with regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of managed vehicles, including NAV oversight and investor transactions, coordinating with the fund administrator.
- Coordinate settlement, custody and registrar instructions for portfolio transactions, ensuring documentation is accurate and authorised.
- Manage relationships with fund administrators, custodians, registrars, auditors, legal counsel and other service providers, monitoring their performance.
- Ensure operational processes comply with FSC requirements, vehicle constitutive documents and the firm’s governance framework.
- Prepare investor reporting, board papers and periodic regulatory filings.
- Design, document and continuously improve operational policies, procedures, authorisation matrices and internal controls.
- Coordinate the annual audit process and act as primary liaison with external auditors.
- Support the Board and Investment Committee with operational information, meeting administration and record‑keeping.
- Monitor regulatory developments affecting investment managers and collective investment schemes in Mauritius and adapt processes accordingly.
- Manage operational risk, including business continuity, record retention and data governance.
- Oversee investor onboarding and KYC/AML processes in coordination with the Compliance Officer and MLRO.
- Build the operations function as the firm grows, including supervision of administrative support staff.
Required profile
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CFA, CA) is a strong advantage.
- 5–8 years’ experience in fund operations, fund administration or a similar role within the global business or financial services sector in Mauritius.
- Strong understanding of collective investment scheme and closed‑end fund structures and related FSC regulatory requirements.
- Experience with custody, settlement and registrar processes for debt and equity‑linked securities is an advantage.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple external stakeholders; experience supervising staff is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
- High level of professionalism, discretion and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in English; French is an advantage.
