About the role

Northfields International School, a premier independent co‑educational day school in Mauritius, is looking for an enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher. The successful candidate will deliver a high‑quality PE programme across primary and secondary levels, fostering students’ physical, social and personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging PE lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and assessment standards.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and ensure inclusive participation.
• Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records.
• Create a safe, supportive and motivating learning environment.
• Manage and maintain sports equipment and facilities, ensuring health and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and contribute to extracurricular sports programmes.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development and school community events.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with a recognized Physical Education teaching credential.
• Proven experience teaching PE in an international or multicultural school setting.
• Strong understanding of curriculum development and student assessment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with students, parents and staff.
• Commitment to the holistic development of learners and to the school’s values.

Required skills

• Knowledge of national and international PE curricula.
• Ability to design inclusive and varied physical activities.
• Proficiency in using and maintaining sports equipment and ensuring safety protocols.
