Reinsurance Analyst

About the role

EllGeo Re is seeking a motivated Reinsurance Analyst to support the structuring and placement of treaty reinsurance programmes across Africa and emerging markets. Based in Phoenix, Mauritius, you will work closely with reinsurers and clients to develop data‑driven solutions that optimise risk transfer.

Key responsibilities

• Structure and place treaty reinsurance programmes for a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Negotiate terms with leading reinsurers and international markets.
• Analyse portfolios, claims experience and risk exposures to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Develop data‑driven insights and bespoke reinsurance solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers and market partners.
• Contribute to business development and growth initiatives.

Required profile

• University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Prior experience in insurance or reinsurance (underwriting, broking or analytics).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English and French.
• Ambitious, proactive and commercially minded.

• Advanced Excel.
• Microsoft Office suite.
