Safety & Health Officer – Hospitality Cluster

About the role

ER Group is looking for a Safety & Health Officer for its Restaurant Cluster, based at the Head Office in Bagatelle. You will ensure the effective implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety practices across the assigned operations, promote compliance with OSHA 2005, support risk management and foster a proactive safety culture so that all team members work in a safe and healthy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain a Health & Safety Management System in line with OSHA 2005 and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Advise and support Management in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Conduct and document risk assessments, inspections and audits.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, risk assessments and statutory reports.
• Develop communication channels on Health & Safety matters and design and deliver training programmes and awareness sessions.
• Ensure emergency preparedness, including fire drills, evacuation plans and first aid readiness.
• Assess safety needs such as PPE and medical examinations and advise Management.
• Monitor H&S performance indicators and recommend improvements, and assist Management in departmental projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Occupational Health & Safety.
• Minimum two years of experience in Occupational Safety & Health; hospitality experience is an advantage.
• Fluent in English and French, written and spoken.
• Valid driving licence required for site visits.

Required skills

• Strong report writing and analytical skills.
• Good training, presentation and organisational skills.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 2005 and related regulations.
