Senior Database Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to manage and support our mission‑critical and pre‑production database environments. The role involves designing, implementing and maintaining Azure cloud databases while ensuring high availability, security and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administration and support for mission‑critical and pre‑production database environments.
• Design and implement Azure cloud databases, high‑availability solutions, replication, encryption and disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Migrate on‑premises databases to Azure using SQL on VM, SQL Managed Instance and Azure SQL Database.
• Perform daily database maintenance, monitoring, performance tuning and 24x7 on‑call support.
• Lead technical initiatives, develop best practices and guide junior DBAs.
• Manage disaster‑recovery processes, backup policies and security/auditing controls.
• Benchmark, analyze and improve SQL transactional replication infrastructure.

Required profile

• 5+ years of recent experience administering mission‑critical database environments.
• Proven experience with large enterprise production systems handling high transaction volumes.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed team.

• SQL Server 2017, 2019, 2022, 2025.
• Azure cloud database services: SQL on VM, SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database.
• NoSQL technologies: MongoDB, Azure Cosmos DB.
• Data streaming and caching: Kafka, Redis.
• Automation tools: PowerShell, Azure CLI.
• Advanced T‑SQL, SQL Profiler.
• SQL monitoring tools: SQL Sentry, DBA Dash.
