Senior Database Platform Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Database Platform Engineer to own the full lifecycle of our Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL environments. You will ensure production platforms are highly available, secure, and performant while partnering with development teams to design scalable database solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and Azure SQL Managed Instance, handling provisioning, configuration, capacity planning, and lifecycle management.
• Design, maintain, and standardize database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and indexes.
• Analyze Query Store, execution plans, DMVs, and Azure metrics to tune T‑SQL queries, indexing strategies, and resolve blocking or deadlock issues.
• Define and execute proactive maintenance plans, including statistics updates, index rebuilds, integrity checks, and storage growth management.
• Develop backup, recovery, and high‑availability strategies, validate restore procedures, and support disaster‑recovery initiatives.
• Implement security controls, least‑privilege access, and audit compliance for sensitive data.
• Manage version‑controlled SQL deployments, review scripts, and automate routine tasks with PowerShell and T‑SQL.
• Provide technical guidance on database architecture, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Proven track record supporting production‑critical databases.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
