Senior Legal Officer

About the role

Mercator by Citco is seeking a Senior Legal Officer to oversee a portfolio of international corporate clients. You will ensure that client queries are handled efficiently, maintain compliance with jurisdictional laws, and support the growth of the legal services team.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the designated client portfolio, ensuring timely and high‑quality delivery of legal services.
• Draft, review, and provide feedback on corporate documents and other client requests.
• Conduct KYC procedures for new and existing clients in line with Citco policies.
• Coach and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Maintain relationships with clients, Citco offices, and third‑party service providers.
• Identify and recommend improvements to existing processes and procedures.
• Monitor legal developments in relevant jurisdictions and ensure compliance with international and industry‑specific requirements.
• Assist the Account Manager with team planning, client onboarding, and migration projects.

Required profile

• Law degree or qualification from the Chartered Governance Institute (UK & Ireland) or equivalent.
• 4‑5 years of experience providing corporate legal services to international clients.
• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented, and a team player with excellent communication skills.
