Senior Subject Matter Expert - Payments & PowerCARD

About the role

ICPS is looking for a highly experienced Senior Payment & PowerCARD Subject Matter Expert to act as a key authority giving expert guidance across multiple banking environments and PowerCARD versions. The role balances production ownership and project involvement, ensuring system reliability, solution validation and continuous optimisation across the payment ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Process the clearing of incoming and outgoing settlement files for the various Card Associations serving clients.
• Take end-to-end ownership of production stability, covering issuing, acquiring, switching and reconciliation flows.
• Contribute to project phases such as study, solution design review and validation with Market teams.
• Lead the resolution of critical incidents and complex issues, performing advanced root cause analysis and driving permanent fixes.
• Ensure consistency across PowerCARD versions, identify gaps and manage version-specific constraints.
• Oversee and validate production configurations, parameters and system interfaces.
• Govern incident, problem and change management (CAB) to minimise production impact.
• Define, standardise and enforce runbooks, operational procedures and best practices.
• Lead project-to-production transitions and proactively drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor the team and promote PowerCARD best practices.

Required profile

• 10-13+ years of experience in payments and card processing.
• Proven track record in production support, incident management and root cause analysis.
• Solid project delivery experience, including requirements analysis, solution validation and work with cross-functional teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing skills, with experience managing SLAs.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in payment transaction flows (authorization, clearing, settlement).
• Strong mastery of PowerCARD modules (issuing, acquiring, switching, reconciliation) and the broader payment ecosystem (Issuer, Acquirer, Schemes).
• SQL, log analysis and transaction troubleshooting.
