AI-Focused Software Developer Internship (6 months)

About the role

Dayforce is looking for a motivated Software Developer Intern with a strong interest in Artificial Intelligence. The 6‑month internship, starting June 2026, will give you hands‑on experience building and enhancing software solutions while leveraging AI‑powered development tools.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and test AI‑enhanced software applications.
• Use AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Rovo and OpenAI APIs to accelerate coding, debugging and documentation.
• Assist in troubleshooting software issues, identifying root causes with AI assistance, and documenting findings.
• Contribute to code generation, refactoring, test coverage and documentation through AI automation.
• Support implementation of coding standards and best practices, focusing on AI‑driven quality enforcement.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high‑quality results.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related program.
• Strong academic performance in programming, algorithms, data structures and related courses.
• Passion for learning AI technologies and applying them in a software development environment.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C#, Java, C++, JavaScript and Python.
• Experience with AI‑powered tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Rovo.
• Familiarity with OpenAI, Claude, Gemini APIs, LangChain, Hugging Face, Azure AI and Ollama.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and LLM fine‑tuning (optional but advantageous).
