Backend Engineer - Payment Integration

About the role

The Backend Engineer will design, develop and maintain the server‑side components that enable a bank‑managed wallet to operate within Winners’ loyalty application. You will ensure payment flows are reliable, secure and seamlessly integrated with loyalty points.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend APIs that connect the wallet platform with the loyalty app.
• Collaborate with banking and financial teams to integrate balance queries, QR‑code payments, confirmations, refunds and transaction status updates.
• Build business logic to manage the full payment lifecycle and link transactions to loyalty members.
• Detect and resolve missing, failed, pending or mismatched transactions, handling errors, timeouts and retries.
• Apply secure coding practices, enforce API authentication and encrypted communication.

Required profile

• Experience with digital banking, digital wallet or payment gateway solutions.
• Familiarity with banking APIs, QR‑payment and e‑commerce payment flows.
• Understanding of loyalty platform integration and financial transaction processing.
