Data Privacy Support Officer

About the role

The Data Privacy Support Officer will assist the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in ensuring the bank complies with all data privacy and protection obligations under Mauritian law, group policies and internal standards. This role bridges legal, compliance and security functions to embed privacy controls across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct gap and risk assessments against regulatory and internal privacy requirements.
• Perform Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) for new products and initiatives.
• Manage data breach incidents, including reporting and remediation.
• Prepare and deliver regular privacy metrics and key indicators to the Group DPO and other stakeholders.
• Provide advisory support and attend regulatory meetings, requests and conferences.
• Assist the Chief Security Office (CSO) team with Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) management, email release processes and cyber‑security governance projects.

Required profile

• Good understanding of the Mauritius Data Protection Act and its application within a banking environment.
• Experience working with DPO, compliance and legal teams to implement privacy controls.
• Ability to translate policy changes into operational procedures promptly.
• Commitment to continuous self‑development and staying current with privacy best practices.
• Strong communication skills to deliver training and raise privacy awareness across the organisation.
