External Audit - Senior Associate

About the role

As a Senior Associate in External Audit you will lead high‑quality audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, from fast‑growing businesses to large multinational organisations. You will apply professional scepticism, leverage digital audit tools, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while supporting your team’s development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and complete external audit engagements, including risk assessment, testing and reporting.
• Identify issues, analyse data, and articulate findings with clear, actionable recommendations.
• Manage multiple client relationships, providing regular updates to managers and senior leaders.
• Coach and lead junior team members, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to business development by researching opportunities with existing and new clients.
• Uphold PwC’s independence, ethics and quality standards throughout the audit lifecycle.
• Stay current with local and global accounting, auditing and regulatory developments.
• Support digital audit initiatives, including data analytics and automation tools.

Required profile

• University graduate working towards a professional qualification (ACCA or ACA).
• Minimum 3 years of external audit experience in a professional services firm.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks, exercise professional judgement and maintain high attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective client relationships.

Required skills

• Knowledge of auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with digital audit tools.
• Experience in data analytics for audit purposes.
• Familiarity with audit automation technologies.
