IT Support Officer

About the role

Sunlife is seeking a motivated IT Support Officer to ensure the smooth operation of its computer hardware, software, and network infrastructure across its corporate office. The role involves providing technical assistance to staff, maintaining systems, and supporting new technology roll‑outs.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and applications.
• Monitor and maintain computer systems, networks and telecommunication equipment.
• Provide face‑to‑face or phone support to associates for system setup and issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot system and network problems and diagnose hardware or software faults.
• Replace faulty components and perform electrical safety checks on equipment.
• Create and maintain procedural documentation and relevant reports.
• Support the roll‑out of new applications and set up new user accounts, handling password issues.
• Respond to tickets logged on the IT Helpdesk within agreed time limits.
• Test and evaluate new technology solutions.
• Assist in both IT and non‑IT projects as required.

Required profile

• Diploma in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a similar IT support role.

Required skills

• CompTIA A+ certification (preferred).
• CompTIA Network+ certification (preferred).
• MCSA certification (advantageous).
• Knowledge of computer hardware installation and maintenance.
• Experience with operating system configuration and application deployment.
• Ability to troubleshoot networks and telecommunication equipment.
