Compliance Officer – Financial Services

About the role
ICECAP Mauritius Limited is seeking a proactive Compliance Officer to protect its regulatory standing and embed a strong compliance culture across its financial services operations. The role reports directly to senior management and serves as the primary point of contact with the Financial Services Commission.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure compliance with the Financial Services Act, FIAMLA, and all FSC directives.
- Act as the AML/CFT Reporting Officer, preparing and submitting Suspicious Transaction Reports to the FIU.
- Develop, implement and maintain compliance policies, procedures and internal controls aligned with local laws and international best practices.
- Conduct risk assessments, gap analyses and compliance audits across business lines and client portfolios.
- Lead client due‑diligence, enhanced due‑diligence and KYC onboarding processes, ensuring proper documentation and periodic reviews.
- Liaise with the FSC and other regulators on licensing, inspections and ad‑hoc queries.
- Prepare and file all regulatory returns, reports and disclosures within required timelines.
- Provide training and advice to staff on regulatory changes, compliance requirements and ethical conduct.
- Monitor global regulatory developments (FATF, OECD, EU) and advise senior management on potential impacts.
- Maintain compliance and breach registers to guarantee audit readiness at all times.
Required profile
- Degree in Law, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline (ACCA, LLB or ICA qualification is a plus).
- 3–5 years of compliance experience within a regulated financial services or management company environment.
- Strong knowledge of FSC regulations, FIAMLA and AML/CFT frameworks.
- Familiarity with FATF recommendations and international regulatory standards.
- Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills in English; French is an advantage.
