Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of all financial records for Constance Le Chaland, a luxury hotel in Mauritius. This senior position oversees reporting, compliance, budgeting and treasury functions while supporting strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate General Ledger, prepare statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with local legislation, IFRS and company policies.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end closing, cash‑flow monitoring, banking transactions and treasury activities.
• Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts and financial plans, and provide analysis to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Manage internal and external audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting.
• Direct the Finance Department, recruit and develop staff, and collaborate with department heads on cost control.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, etc.) preferred.
• 3‑5 years of senior finance management experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Proven ability to manage audits, tax compliance and statutory reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and leadership skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with hotel accounting systems and ERP software.
• Understanding of local tax regulations and statutory requirements.
