Housing Porter

About the role

The Housing Porter provides professional housing support services for a U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role is the primary point of contact for tenants, handling check‑in/out, occupancy management, inspections and maintenance coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Assist tenants during check‑in and check‑out, issue keys and documentation, and address lockouts or access issues.
• Maintain accurate occupancy, reservation and supply records and update housing unit status.
• Conduct housing unit inspections to verify cleanliness, readiness and quality standards.
• Receive, document and coordinate building maintenance service requests with maintenance departments.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and Department of State policies and support additional administrative projects as directed.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of comparable customer service experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in related field is a plus.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining and ability to obtain required visas and facility credentials.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
