Receptionist – Guest Services on Luxury Cruise Ship

About the role

We are seeking a professional Receptionist to deliver exceptional guest services aboard a luxury cruise ship. The role involves managing the front desk, handling guest enquiries, and ensuring a seamless, high‑quality experience for all passengers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide outstanding guest service at the reception desk, responding promptly to requests, enquiries, and complaints.
• Coordinate guest needs, including restaurant reservations, wake‑up calls, mailing services, DVD/CD rentals, and newspaper deliveries.
• Process financial transactions such as cash payments, traveler’s checks, foreign‑currency exchange, credit‑card payments, and cash advances, reconciling cash with the Financial Officer at the end of each cruise.
• Maintain continuous communication with the Guest Relations Manager and other ship departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures and uphold moral integrity in all interactions.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in guest‑facing roles at an international 5‑star or luxury establishment.
• Strong administrative abilities, high organization, self‑motivation, and the capacity to remain calm under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written English; advanced proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, German or French is highly desirable.
• Ability to adapt quickly, make decisions under pressure, and pay close attention to detail.

Required skills

• Basic accounting knowledge for handling cash and financial transactions.
