Senior System Engineer

About the role

International Card Processing Services Ltd (ICPS) is seeking a Senior System Engineer to take full ownership of the critical server, virtualization, storage, backup and disaster‑recovery infrastructure that supports its global payment operations. The role requires a highly autonomous professional who can ensure reliability, security and continuous improvement of the production environment while providing technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and optimise IBM AIX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Linux and VMware environments, including capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Manage core infrastructure platforms such as Dell SAN/NAS storage, IBM Power and HP servers, and tape libraries, overseeing lifecycle, firmware updates and vendor support.
• Operate high‑availability, backup and disaster‑recovery solutions (Veritas Cluster Server, NetBackup, Veeam, RecoverPoint) and lead DR simulations, failover/failback testing and RTO/RPO compliance.
• Support Active Directory, SMTP/messaging services, monitoring platforms (Zabbix, Centreon) and middleware (JBoss, Oracle WebLogic).
• Lead patch and vulnerability management, applying security updates and ensuring audit compliance.
• Design and maintain automation scripts to reduce manual effort and improve system resilience.
• Provide Level 2/3 support, conduct root‑cause analysis and manage incidents, problems and changes, including on‑call duties.
• Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, asset inventories and contribute to technology upgrade projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in systems and infrastructure administration, preferably in a senior capacity.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Linux/Unix platforms, especially IBM AIX, RHEL and Oracle Linux.
• Proven experience with VMware, storage, backup, high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, monitoring tools, middleware and patch/vulnerability management.
