Cook for US Navy Program on Diego Garcia

About the role

We are looking for a Cook to join Amentum’s support team for a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves preparing and serving high‑quality meals for personnel in a remote, high‑pressure environment while adhering to strict food‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and measure ingredients according to standard recipes and menu requirements.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to deliver meals during scheduled dining periods.
• Maintain accurate food inventory records, report discrepancies, and rotate stock using FIFO methods.
• Store food products in compliance with safety standards and monitor proper temperatures.
• Replenish kitchen supplies and workstations for upcoming shifts.
• Clean and sanitize preparation areas, equipment, and workstations at the end of each shift.
• Perform additional duties as assigned consistent with the position’s level.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years experience as a Cook in a commercial or restaurant setting.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow recipes and food‑production guidelines.
• Working knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain facility credentials.

Required skills

• ServSafe Food Handler certification (or ability to obtain).
• Food Protection Manager certification (preferred).
