About the role
The Electrical Utility Manager will lead the operation, maintenance, and management of electrical utility systems for a critical US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient power delivery while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Manage operation and maintenance of engine‑driven generators (≥1,000 kW) and associated medium‑voltage equipment and switchgear.
- Oversee electrical distribution systems equivalent to those on Diego Garcia to guarantee uninterrupted power supply.
- Implement and maintain a Quality Management System, including accident and incident investigations.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with OSHA, electrical codes, and other regulations.
- Supervise a technical team responsible for power generation and distribution.
- Create and manage preventive maintenance and corrective action schedules.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including the Contracting Officer, to meet contract requirements.
- Verify documented experience and qualifications before contract performance.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years experience with engine‑driven generators (≥1,000 kW) and medium‑voltage equipment.
- Minimum 5 years experience with electrical distribution systems similar to those on Diego Garcia.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Quality Management and administration, including accident/incident investigation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid passport (minimum 1 year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
- Pass contract medical requirements and maintain them throughout deployment.
