Event and Marketing Officer

About the role

The Event and Marketing Officer will help expand Greenpeace Africa’s visibility and fundraising impact in Mauritius by securing strategic kiosk locations and building partnerships with shopping malls and commercial venues. This role ensures fundraising teams can engage high‑traffic audiences to support environmental campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, scout and assess high‑traffic venues suitable for fundraising kiosks.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date database of potential venues and partnership opportunities.
• Develop and nurture relationships with mall management and venue partners.
• Negotiate kiosk space agreements, obtain approvals and address venue concerns.
• Coordinate kiosk schedules with fundraising teams and provide operational support.
• Monitor location performance, resolve on‑site issues and recommend improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of partnerships, agreements and performance metrics.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Strong negotiation and organisational skills.
• Experience in partnerships, events, business development or marketing is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Professional, confident and solution‑oriented approach.
• Good knowledge of the Mauritian commercial landscape.
• Valid driving licence and reliable transportation.
• Passion for environmental protection and Greenpeace Africa’s mission.

• Proficiency in English and French; Creole is an advantage.
