Handyman – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on the south‑eastern coast of Mauritius, is seeking a reliable Handyman to join its maintenance team. You will ensure the safety, functionality and appearance of hotel facilities while delivering high‑quality repairs and upkeep.

Key responsibilities

• Follow occupational safety and health regulations and company safety policies.
• Check daily work plans, verify tools and equipment, and coordinate with the Maintenance Manager.
• Perform repairs on wooden tables, partitions, doors, and windows, including gluing, polishing, varnishing and hardware adjustments.
• Carry out plumbing tasks such as tap replacement, faucet joint work, shower and sink fittings, toilet repairs and pipe unblocking.
• Execute masonry work including wall crack casting, tile replacement and brick laying for pathways.
• Conduct painting duties, mix colours, retouch surfaces and varnish wood to remove stains.
• Clean roofs, drains and other hotel areas according to the established schedule.

Required profile

• Middle or secondary education; additional training or certificates are a plus.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in hotel or luxury resort maintenance.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, highly organized and detail‑oriented.
• Fluent in English (additional language a plus).
