Junior Accountant – French Accounting

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in Grand Baie, Mauritius. The role focuses on maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring compliance with French tax obligations while supporting French‑based clients.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, record transactions and perform bank reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly and annual financial close processes and prepare management reports.
• Prepare and submit French tax filings, including VAT returns and statutory declarations.
• Review accounting entries, identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with French accounting standards.
• Respond to client queries on accounting and tax matters and monitor changes in French legislation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in French accounting, bookkeeping, account reconciliation and French tax compliance.
• Fluent in French with a good command of English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Sage accounting software.
• Proficiency with Cegid or equivalent ERP/accounting systems.
