Manager - Cards Business Process and Controls

About the role

We are seeking a Manager to lead Business Process and Controls for our Cards Business. This newly created, high‑impact position will strengthen governance, regulatory compliance, and operational risk management while working closely with senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead remediation of findings from internal audits and compliance reviews across the Cards Business.
• Design, implement, and maintain a first‑line controls and monitoring framework covering regulatory, operational, and scheme obligations.
• Act as the primary accountability point for controls reporting to senior management and governance forums.
• Conduct regular health checks, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert on Mastercard scheme rules, operating regulations, and mandatory programmes.
• Ensure compliance with PCI DSS standards across systems, processes, and third‑party partners.
• Review, document, and improve end‑to‑end cards operational processes and SOPs.
• Provide governance and compliance oversight to the Cards Fraud function.
• Prepare dashboards for leadership and support executive board reporting.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, IT, scheme partners, and auditors.
• Support and project‑manage key cards initiatives, including migrations and operational consolidation.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of experience in cards, payments, or related compliance and risk functions.
• Strong knowledge of Mastercard scheme rules and regulatory requirements, including Bank of Mauritius updates.
• Proven experience in audit remediation, control framework design, and operational risk reduction.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with senior stakeholders.
