Projectionist – Navy Entertainment Support

About the role

The Projectionist will operate and maintain audiovisual projection and sound equipment for the U.S. Navy’s recreation and morale, welfare, and recreation (MWR) program on Diego Garcia. This position ensures high‑quality movie screenings and special events for personnel stationed on the remote island.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and shut down digital projection and sound systems for scheduled screenings and events.
• Load and schedule digital content, verify playback settings, and maintain compliance with Navy MWR standards.
• Monitor audio‑visual quality during presentations and troubleshoot technical issues promptly.
• Perform routine cleaning, basic preventive maintenance, and keep detailed logs of equipment performance.
• Maintain a clean, orderly projection booth and theater area.
• Support morale‑building initiatives by ensuring reliable entertainment services.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience operating audiovisual, projection, or similar technical equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining beyond the hire date.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and special‑event schedules.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and obtain necessary facility credentials.
