Accountant – Finance Team

About the role

Odysseo Oceanarium Mauritius is seeking a qualified Accountant to support its Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will help manage day‑to‑day financial operations and collaborate with various operational departments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly management accounts.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Implement and monitor internal financial controls.
• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
• Coordinate working‑capital items with the Group Shared Services Centre.
• Act as the finance liaison for operational departments.
• Participate in finance transformation and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Supervise and coach junior team members.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• ACCA Level 2 qualification.
• Around five years of accounting or finance experience (advantageous).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
