Anti-Money Laundering Officer

About the role

The Anti-Money Laundering Officer will work full‑time on‑site in Quatre Bornes, monitoring client activities and transactions to ensure compliance with AML/CFT regulations and internal policies. You will play a key part in safeguarding the firm against financial crime while supporting a dynamic, technology‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse client transactions to detect suspicious activity.
• Conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews for new and existing clients.
• Screen clients and counterparties against sanctions lists and maintain up‑to‑date records.
• Prepare regulatory and internal compliance reports.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide AML guidance and support audits.
• Contribute to policy and procedure updates and participate in training initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong analytical ability to identify patterns and assess AML/CFT risks.
• In‑depth knowledge of sanctions regimes and experience with screening tools.
• Background in finance or financial services with understanding of investment structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in CDD/EDD, KYC checks, and risk profiling.
• Relevant certifications such as CAMS are advantageous.
• Familiarity with Mauritian AML/CFT regulations and international standards (FATF, EU, UK, US).
• Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business, compliance or related field preferred.
