Assistant Maintenance Manager

About the role

Ocean’s Creek is seeking a proactive Assistant Maintenance Manager to join its Engineering & Maintenance team. This hybrid position combines hands‑on technical work with administrative duties, ensuring the hotel’s facilities, plant, and equipment run safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Maintenance Manager/Chief Engineer in daily department supervision.
• Lead the maintenance team, allocate tasks, and ensure safe, efficient completion of work.
• Maintain a strong on‑site presence to troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and intervene technically.
• Implement and monitor the Preventive Maintenance Programme, keeping schedules and records up to date.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical faults.
• Oversee HVAC, refrigeration, generators, pumps, motors, electrical installations, plumbing, kitchen/laundry equipment, water systems, and fire/life‑safety systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back‑of‑house spaces, and plant rooms.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies to minimise downtime.
• Coordinate maintenance requests, manage work orders, and supervise external contractors.
• Assist with spare‑parts management, quotations, cost reporting, and energy‑conservation initiatives.
• Coach and develop team members, monitor KPIs, and support engineering projects and renovations.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong technical background with hands‑on experience in hotel or similar facilities.
• Ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and work safely under pressure.
