Associate Barrister – Employment Law

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Barrister to join our Employment Law Team at Juristconsult Chambers. The role combines advisory work and litigation, representing clients in court and disciplinary committees while providing expert guidance on employment matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on compliance with employment laws, regulations and standards.
• Lead investigations into workplace misconduct, harassment or discrimination and recommend resolutions.
• Represent clients in court appearances, administrative proceedings and disciplinary committees.
• Draft, review and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions and briefs.
• Maintain and organise case files, evidence and documentation.
• Monitor changes in employment legislation and case law.
• Conduct legal research and ensure accuracy of advice.
• Develop and sustain strong client relationships and keep clients informed of case status.
• Collaborate with senior lawyers on litigation strategies and settlement negotiations.
• Adhere to professional standards, firm policies and financial protocols.

Required profile

• Qualified barrister with experience in employment law.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Excellent written communication and drafting skills.
• Organised, reliable and punctual, with willingness to work outside office hours.
