Casual Handyman – Facilities Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Handyperson on a casual basis to join the facilities team at our luxury resort in Mauritius. You will play a key part in keeping the property’s infrastructure in top condition, supporting both guest experiences and back‑of‑house operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, and painting.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, diagnose problems and implement effective solutions.
• Conduct regular inspections of building systems, fixtures and fittings to identify potential issues.
• Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools safely and in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used and time spent.
• Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and organisational standards.
• Collaborate with other team members and external contractors for larger projects.

Required profile

• NC 3 in Engineering or a related qualification.
• Previous experience in hotel or similar maintenance roles is preferred.
• Good knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and general building maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures and safe tool use.
• Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
