Chef – Hotel & Spa Kitchen Lead

About the role

The Chef will direct all kitchen activities at Baystone Boutique Hotel & Spa, ensuring high‑quality food preparation for breakfast, lunch, dinner and special events. This full‑time, on‑site position requires strong culinary expertise, strict food‑safety standards and the ability to create memorable dining experiences for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, plating and presentation for all meals and events.
• Maintain culinary standards, enforce food‑safety and hygiene regulations, and manage inventory and ingredient ordering.
• Lead, train and schedule kitchen staff while coordinating closely with front‑of‑house teams.
• Develop seasonal menus, adapt dishes to dietary preferences and restrictions, and contribute to overall guest satisfaction.

Required profile

• Proven culinary experience in fine‑dining or Japanese/Asian cuisine, with strong menu development and plating skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of food‑safety, sanitation standards and local regulatory requirements.
• Ability to manage kitchen operations, control costs, handle inventory and liaise with suppliers.
• Experience leading and mentoring kitchen teams, fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment.
