Club and Activities Manager

About the role

The Club and Activities Manager leads the daily operations of a Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) facility, combining fitness programming with bar and food service. Reporting to senior MWR leadership, the role ensures a safe, welcoming environment for service members and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exercise guidance, testing, prescription and supervise users of MWR fitness resources.
• Teach and coordinate group exercise classes.
• Mix and serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with established recipes and age‑verification policies.
• Manage bar inventory, ordering, and point‑of‑sale (POS) transactions, including cash drawer oversight.
• Maintain sanitation standards for bar tools, glassware, and food service areas.
• Open and close the bartending station, ensuring equipment is functional.
• Coordinate special events, ensuring adequate supplies and staff performance.
• Perform regular equipment inspections and other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience coordinating team sports, recreation clubs, or social events.
• MWR or armed‑forces recreation experience preferred.
• CPR and first‑aid certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of exercise science, health and fitness.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service abilities.
