Compliance Assistant – Financial Services

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Compliance Assistant to join our Mauritius office. You will support the compliance team in managing regulatory risk, client onboarding, and ongoing monitoring across our financial services operations.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure business activities comply with applicable laws, rules and regulations while identifying and analysing risks.
• Maintain and review internal controls, compliance policies and risk‑management procedures.
• Lead the implementation of client onboarding and termination processes to mitigate risk.
• Coordinate ongoing compliance monitoring, transaction reviews and AML reporting.
• Assess regulatory compliance frameworks and support their implementation globally.
• Assist the compliance department with fund‑service onboarding and monitoring activities.
• Identify and report non‑compliance or suspicious activity in line with AML legislation.

Required profile

• University degree in Law, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum two years of compliance experience within the financial services industry.
• Strong communication, project and time‑management abilities.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented and able to work under pressure.
• Team‑leadership and collaborative mindset.
• Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• ACAMS certification (advantageous).
