Electrician – Private Estate Maintenance (Expatriate)

About the role

Our client is looking for two experienced electricians to maintain the electrical infrastructure of a 9‑acre private estate in Gros Cailloux, Mauritius. The estate hosts weddings, private events and corporate functions, requiring reliable power before, during and after each event. The role includes installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and event‑specific electrical support.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect and maintain wiring, switches, sockets, circuit breakers and distribution boards across indoor and outdoor areas.
• Perform routine inspections, testing and preventive maintenance to identify faults before failures.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults, replace damaged components and restore service after outages.
• Provide temporary power and lighting solutions for events, supporting entertainment equipment and emergency interventions.
• Monitor and test generators and backup power systems, reporting servicing needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, follow lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain tools, record interventions and support the Maintenance Officer as required.

Required profile

• National Trade Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Installation or Electrical Engineering; licensed electrician certification is a plus.
• Minimum three years of experience as an electrician, preferably in commercial buildings, hotels, event venues or large estates.
• Experience with generators and outdoor electrical installations is desirable.
