Facility & Maintenance Officer

About the role

The Facility & Maintenance Officer ensures that all buildings, equipment, and infrastructure operate safely and efficiently. This hands‑on role combines routine inspections, minor repairs, and coordination with external service providers to keep the workplace functional and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Carry out minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs and coordinate larger tasks with contractors.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, faults, and service calls to minimise downtime.
• Maintain operational readiness of lighting, signage, HVAC controls, elevators and other building systems.
• Oversee cleanliness, organization and general upkeep of internal and external premises.
• Manage utilities such as lighting, water supply, ventilation and drainage.
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment and maintenance supplies.
• Assist with space planning, office moves and event setups.
• Coordinate third‑party contractors for cleaning, pest control, landscaping and repairs, ensuring contract compliance and quality.
• Conduct regular safety checks, report hazards and support fire‑safety and emergency drills.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance schedules, repairs, incidents and inspections.

Required profile

• Diploma in Facility Management or a technical certificate in Electrical/Mechanical/Building Services Engineering or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in building maintenance or facility operations.
• Strong knowledge of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC and fire safety.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair infrastructure and equipment.
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety standards.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical ability to perform hands‑on tasks, including lifting and climbing.
