Graduate Structural Engineer

About the role

Arup is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to join its Structural team. You will work closely with senior engineers on a growing portfolio of projects across multiple sectors, applying structural engineering knowledge to deliver innovative and sustainable design solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support senior engineers throughout all project stages, from feasibility studies to final design completion.
• Produce and review design information, including calculations, drawings, reports and specifications.
• Conduct site surveys and investigations for minor structural projects.
• Collaborate with internal and external technical disciplines to ensure high‑quality, sustainable outcomes.
• Contribute to digital transformation initiatives by exploring automation and BIM‑based design approaches.

Required profile

• Ability to interpret client requirements and develop cost‑effective, sustainable structural solutions.
• Work with limited supervision while taking ownership of defined project components.
• Organise and plan work to meet agreed deadlines and ensure documentation is error‑free before internal review.
• Produce engineering deliverables such as reports, letters, calculations, drawings and specifications.
• Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards learning and applying new digital tools.
