About the role
The Guest Service Officer works onboard a cruise ship to ensure every guest enjoys a memorable and hassle‑free experience. You will be the first point of contact for guests, listening actively, addressing concerns, and delivering friendly, professional service throughout their stay.
Key responsibilities
- Greet guests, answer inquiries and provide accurate information about ship services.
- Resolve guest issues promptly, using sound judgment and a sense of humor.
- Handle cash transactions, process payments and apply knowledge of US currency and exchange rates.
- Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers and copy machines.
- Collaborate with department heads and shipboard staff to negotiate solutions and maintain high satisfaction levels.
Required profile
- Minimum one year of experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related hospitality industry.
- At least one year of cash‑handling experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Willingness to work onboard for a 5‑6 month contract.
- Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
