Head of Financial Reporting and Control

About the role

The Head of Financial Reporting and Control will lead HSBC's finance function in delivering accurate internal and external financial reports, forecasts and control oversight. You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and drive continuous improvement across the reporting process.

Key responsibilities

• Review all accounting and financial reporting deliverables, including monthly profit‑and‑loss and balance‑sheet statements.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts and ensure timely submission of regulatory reports.
• Maintain a robust financial control environment and oversee stress‑testing activities.
• Liaise with business units to reflect accurate and timely developments in the accounting records.
• Lead regulatory change initiatives and IFRS implementation projects.
• Drive process improvements and streamline reporting workflows.
• Complete mandatory Anti‑Money Laundering and sanctions training.

Required profile

• Solid professional experience in accounting, preferably in a group reporting environment.
• Proven track record preparing statutory accounts and managing external audits.
• Ability to work independently under pressure while collaborating effectively with on‑shore and off‑shore teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Leadership capability to guide both on‑shore and offshore finance teams.
