Infrastructure Engineer (End User / Core / Developer)

About the role

MCB is recruiting Infrastructure Engineers for its Tech Infrastructure Chapter, supporting the systems and services that enable customers and colleagues to go further. Technology infrastructure is described as the foundation of the Bank's digital ecosystem. Candidates must apply to only one of the three scopes: End User Infrastructure, Core Infrastructure or Developer Infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• End User: manage Windows servers, Microsoft Cloud services and core applications; maintain, upgrade and apply security best practices; keep asset inventory up to date; troubleshoot infrastructure issues; monitor services for production stability; automate routine tasks; maintain knowledge articles and contribute to Problem Management.
• Core: keep physical and virtual infrastructure hosting critical banking systems running 24/7; install, configure and maintain servers, storage appliances and SAN switches; maintain disaster recovery replication and backups; help maintain data centres to relevant standards and controls.
• Developer: install, configure and manage Unix/Linux systems (Red Hat, RH OpenShift, IBM AIX); implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines; write automation scripts; monitor system resources and infrastructure trends; schedule and carry out upgrades and interventions to ensure business continuity.

Required profile

• End User: Bachelor in IT or equivalent, at least two years' experience in a customer-focused IT support environment, able to work odd hours and join an on-call roster.
• Core: degree in IT or equivalent with four years' experience, or diploma in IT or equivalent with six years' experience; strong awareness of security and compliance.
• Developer: degree in IT or equivalent with four years' experience, or diploma in IT or equivalent with six years' experience; understanding of DevOps principles, monitoring, logging, reliability, security and cost considerations.
• Candidates must show adaptability, sound decision-making, collaboration, planning and prioritisation, and must provide a certificate of character and two professional references.

Required skills

• End User: Microsoft best practices, cybersecurity, Active Directory/Entra, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure.
• Core: virtualisation and hypervisors, storage and SAN switch administration, backup technologies, Bash/PowerShell/Python scripting.
• Developer: Linux/UNIX, Kubernetes, RHEL, OpenShift, AIX, CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, Ansible, Docker, Bash/PowerShell/Python.
