Junior Accountant

About the role

The Junior Accountant will join the Client Accounting Shared Services (CASS) team, primarily supporting clients in Jersey. The role involves bookkeeping, preparation of simple financial statements and management accounts, and quarterly reporting for companies and trusts across various sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post final bookkeeping entries required for producing financial statements and management accounts.
• Execute period‑end closing processes, including pre‑payments, accruals, loans and bank transactions for assigned client portfolios.
• Prepare simple annual financial statements for Companies and Trusts in accordance with IFRS and UK Accounting Standards.
• Provide additional bookkeeping and accounting support to the Client Accounting team and assist with ad‑hoc projects.
• Ensure all work complies with internal policies, procedures and relevant accounting frameworks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Enrolled in or pursuing a professional accounting qualification.
• Prior bookkeeping or financial reporting experience is preferred.
• Fluent in English and French (listening, speaking, writing).
• Ability to work within UK time zones and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong organisational, analytical and planning skills.

Required skills

• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Knowledge of UK GAAP accounting standards.
