Kitchen Steward – Resort Hospitality

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Kitchen Steward to support daily operations at our resort kitchen. The role ensures cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all kitchen areas, equipment and utensils, contributing to a safe and efficient food‑and‑beverage service.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, sanitize and store dishes, glassware, cutlery, cookware and kitchen equipment.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen floors, counters, sinks, storage areas and food‑preparation surfaces.
• Follow food‑safety, hygiene and sanitation standards to maintain a healthy working environment.
• Collect, separate and dispose of waste and recycling according to resort procedures.
• Operate dishwashing machines and cleaning tools safely, reporting any maintenance issues.
• Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning materials and notify supervisors when stock needs replenishment.
• Assist chefs, cooks and service staff with movement of dishes, equipment and deliveries.
• Keep storage and stewarding stations organized and free from hazards.
• Collaborate with team members during busy periods and special events.
• Adhere to resort policies, occupational health and safety procedures and supervisor instructions.

Required profile

• Previous experience in kitchen stewarding, dishwashing or related hospitality role is preferred but not required.
• Reliable, punctual and able to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Understanding of cleaning, hygiene, food‑safety and safe chemical handling practices.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift supplies, bend, reach and work in hot, wet kitchen conditions.
• Commitment to workplace safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings, early mornings and peak resort periods.
• Professional attitude and dedication to maintaining RIU’s standards of cleanliness and service.
