L1 Network Engineer

About the role

Orange Business is seeking a bilingual (English & French) L1 Network Engineer to join its global support team. You will provide first‑line network troubleshooting and maintenance for a diverse portfolio of customers, ensuring reliable operation of routers, switches, firewalls and related infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, diagnose and resolve network incidents across Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices.
• Perform IPv4/IPv6 addressing, subnetting and routing table analysis.
• Support security appliances (Checkpoint, Fortigate, Palo Alto) and VPN, load balancer, proxy services.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to implement changes and follow defined processes.
• Maintain documentation in knowledge‑management systems and adhere to ITIL standards.

Required profile

• Minimum degree in IT or Telecommunications.
• At least 2 years of experience in IT support, network or security engineering.
• Bilingual proficiency in written and spoken English and French.
• ITIL V3/V4 Foundation knowledge is a plus.

Required skills

• TCP/OSI model and related protocols.
• IPv4 addressing, subnetting and IPv6 address types.
• Routing and switching concepts, L2 protocols, NAT, NTP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP.
• CCNA (desirable) and CCNP (optional) certifications.
• Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Network security devices: Checkpoint, Fortigate, Palo Alto.
• Network hardware: Cisco, Juniper, Aruba.
• Proxy, reverse proxy, antivirus, load balancers, VPN.
• MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
