Laundry Manager (Shipboard)

About the role

The Laundry Manager (Shipboard) oversees the daily operation of the ship’s laundry facility, ensuring efficient processing of all linen and guest garments. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the role combines technical oversight with coordination across multiple ship departments to maintain high standards of cleanliness and service.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily laundry activities, including washing, ironing, dry‑cleaning and storage of all items.
• Ensure all laundry equipment is operational; coordinate repairs and routine maintenance with the Executive Housekeeper and First Engineer.
• Inspect dryers and other machines daily, maintain proper temperature and lint‑free conditions.
• Manage sorting procedures, guaranteeing linen is free of debris and correctly separated by color.
• Produce and submit daily inspection reports and coordinate chemical supply requisitions.
• Oversee timely distribution of clean linen to all ship areas such as cabins, restaurants, spa, pool and cruise‑theater departments.
• Collaborate with the Cruise Division to schedule costume laundering and meet theatrical specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of work areas and equipment.

Required profile

• Technical proficiency with laundry machinery and related supplies.
• Strong judgment for corrective actions and ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Capability to address guest‑related issues and coordinate with multiple ship departments.
• Accountability to the Executive Housekeeper for operational efficiency.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality control at every stage of the process.
