Legal Associate – Corporate & Commercial Law

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Associate to join our legal and corporate services practice in Port Louis. The successful candidate will work closely with senior lawyers to support a broad range of corporate, tax, immigration and intellectual property matters for our diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Research, draft, review and negotiate commercial and corporate documents such as shareholder, lease, franchise and employment agreements.
• Assist in preparing corporate governance and compliance documentation, including manuals and policy papers.
• Conduct legal research across corporate, tax, immigration and IP law and draft opinion letters.
• Support senior team members in client advisory work, attend client meetings and maintain accurate case files.
• Contribute to the preparation of tailored legal and operational documents for business formation and growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or equivalent legal qualification; admission to practice law is a plus.
• Strong legal research and drafting abilities across corporate, tax, immigration and IP law.
• Experience reviewing and preparing commercial agreements.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to corporate governance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with high attention to detail.
• Professional ethics, client‑focused mindset and ability to work collaboratively on‑site.
