Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will design, develop and test mechanical devices, machines and systems, ensuring they meet performance and quality standards. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to integrate mechanical components and support ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems such as engines, machines, and tools using CAD software.
• Conduct research, analyze data, and improve existing designs.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers and other professionals to integrate mechanical systems.
• Develop and test prototypes to verify design specifications.
• Manage projects, coordinate with teams, and ensure timely, on‑budget delivery.
• Perform quality control checks and oversee manufacturing and assembly.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical systems in the field.
• Conduct routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair or replace faulty parts on vehicles and machinery.
• Carry out safety inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Communicate repair needs and cost estimates to customers.
• Follow DAKRI CARTONS LTD Quality Management System and health‑and‑safety procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with a solid foundation in maths, science and English.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer‑aided design (CAD) software.
• Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment for mechanical troubleshooting.
