Production Manager – Packaging Operations

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Production Manager to lead our packaging production operations in Mauritius for a Swiss multinational in the food & beverage sector. You will drive production excellence, manage cross‑functional teams, and collaborate with international stakeholders on European projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day production ensuring high‑quality output that meets client expectations, SLAs and deadlines.
• Manage team performance against quality, productivity and operational KPIs.
• Coach and develop Production Supervisors, Team Leaders, Artists and Coordinators.
• Plan and allocate resources for optimal workload distribution and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Client Services and Commercial teams to anticipate workload fluctuations.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and global production standards.
• Promote adoption of automation tools and systems to boost productivity.
• Oversee artwork production processes, including color separation, trapping, image resolution and barcode accuracy.
• Act as escalation point for production issues and lead continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent (Business Management, Art & Design, Printing Technology or related field is a plus).
• 5+ years of experience in production, operations or a similar environment, with team‑leadership responsibilities.
• Experience in packaging, printing or prepress is valued.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
