Project Coordinator, GCF Low-Carbon Project (Port Louis)

About the role

The UNDP Mauritius Country Office is hiring a Project Coordinator for the "Accelerating the Transformational Shift to a Low-Carbon Economy in the Republic of Mauritius" project, funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and implemented under National Implementation Modality since 2017. The project aims to overcome barriers to low-carbon development and supports the deployment of 25MW of PV on the grid. The post is locally recruited through an open competitive process and reports to the Head of the Environment Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the project overall, mobilize inputs, supervise staff, consultants and sub-contractors, and build an effective project team
• Plan, budget, implement and monitor the project, promote joint programming and new opportunities, and support capacity building of national counterparts
• Apply results-based management tools, manage scorecard targets and benchmarks, and coordinate decentralized local evaluations
• Ensure compliance with audit requirements and timely follow-up to audit recommendations
• Track financial resources, approve contracts and ATLAS transactions within delegated authority, and seek efficiency gains
• Prepare and submit project reports (inception report, annual review, technical and quarterly financial reports) and assist with payment requests and disbursement follow-up
• Maintain project correspondence and liaise with government, UNDP, UN agencies, NGOs, partners and donors
