Public Area Attendant

About the role

Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on the south-eastern coast of Mauritius, is hiring a Public Area Attendant through its partner Hosco in Plaine Magnien. The role covers cleaning and maintenance of public areas, guest service and basic stock checks.

Key responsibilities

• Remove trash and refill amenities (soap, gel) and clean linen
• Clean floors (vacuum, sweep, dust mop, wash, strip, wax, buff) and shampoo carpets
• Wash windows, walls, chalkboards and trash cans; dust furniture, fixtures and woodwork
• Collect and empty trash, pick up litter, and clean and sanitize toilets and bathrooms, including changing shower curtains
• Carry out specialized custodial tasks such as floor refinishing and project cleaning
• Check electrical appliances (lamps, hand dryers, telephone, mini-bar, TV, air-con, safe) and technical items (door locks, blackout, showers, water, WC flush, blinds)
• Manage the stock of pantry and trolleys
• Handle guest queries and complaints quickly, sign in and out of keys, and perform other duties assigned by management
• Follow dress, appearance and conduct codes, monitor trainees' progress, and ensure health and safety practices are followed

Required profile

• Middle or secondary education; additional training or certificates in the field are a plus
• At least 1 year of experience in the hotel industry; proven experience in top luxury resorts is a plus
• Fluency in English or another language
