Quantitative Analyst (Quants) - FAAS

About the role

EY Mauritius is hiring a Quantitative Analyst within its Assurance- Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) practice, which serves the financial services industry. The Quants team uses analytics and quantitative techniques to help clients solve financial services risk management issues, improve business efficiency and manage risks in client portfolios. You will gain hands-on experience in advisory and assurance engagements involving the development, validation and implementation of financial risk models and advanced analytics, covering credit risk (including IFRS 9), market risk, derivative pricing, valuation and emerging topics such as AI and machine learning.

Key responsibilities

• Support the planning, execution and delivery of quantitative advisory and assurance engagements.
• Contribute to the development, validation and implementation of financial risk and analytical models.
• Analyse complex datasets and apply quantitative techniques to address financial services risk management challenges.
• Work as a team member, share responsibility, support colleagues, communicate and update senior team members on progress.
• Assist in preparing reports and project plans delivered to clients and other parties.

Required profile

• A relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Computational Finance, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics or Physics.
• Agile, growth-oriented and curious mindset; inclusive approach to diverse perspectives.
• For graduates: academic projects, internships or exposure to quantitative modelling, financial risk management or data analytics are advantageous.
• For experienced candidates: experience in financial services and/or consulting, and in model development, validation or implementation, is advantageous.

Required skills

• Programming or data analytics experience in one or more languages or platforms such as Python, R, SAS, SQL or VBA.
• Professional qualifications such as CQF, CFA or FRM are an advantage but not mandatory.
